About Us

Choral Nova is the brainchild of acclaimed professional musician, vocal coach, and choir director Lizzie Deane. Having spent years singing in elite ensembles - including performing her own original choral works on Sainsbury’s Choir of the Year - Lizzie founded this Milton Keynes-based community choir to return to her classical roots and share the magic of harmony with others. Today, the choir is a thriving, joyful group that dives into a rich variety of musical genres, from classical and world music to folk, swing, jazz, gospel, and musical theatre.

Lizzie’s leadership is backed by an extraordinary career in the music industry. After graduating with a BA (Hons) Music Degree and an Advanced Acting Diploma from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, her voice transitioned from a classical soprano into the powerhouse, soulful instrument she is known for today. She has toured and recorded with iconic artists such as Pee Wee Ellis & Fred Wesley, Carleen Anderson, Mica Paris, Boy George, Howard Jones and Belinda Carlisle.

 

Alongside fronting The Lizzie Deane Band at legendary London spots like The 606 Club and Pizza Express Soho, Lizzie is a highly sought-after session artist - famous for arranging the vocals on the 2021 VERY Christmas advert and voicing the iconic Morrisons jingle.

Lizzie's passion for communal singing extends far beyond Milton Keynes. She is a highly regarded global vocal coach, leading luxury retreats for Singing Holidays across Italy, Croatia, and Austria, as well as hosting regular creative workshops with Singing Nest in the UK. Her expertise spans multiple contemporary vocal projects, including directing pop-based groups for The Collaboration Choir across Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

 

Most recently, she made television history as the choir director who led The Hawkstone Farmers' Choir

to victory on Britain's Got Talent 2026!
